Walk at your ease all over the migration route used by the Cathars and Good Men in the Middle Age when escaping from the crusades and inquisition through the Pyrenees.
Find the good man you have got inside!
This multi-stage circular route across the Pyrenees can be started and finished at different points of Catalonia and France.
The original itinerary between Berga and Foix (crossing Cadí Moixeró Natural Park – GR-107) has been enhanced with the route followed by Guillaume Bélibaste, the last Cathar, through Alt Urgell and Pallars Sobirà regions, across Alt Pirineu Natural Park. The route connects thus the northern and southern slopes of the Pyrenees and crosses the border twice.
The itinerary will take you through a wide range of valleys and mountains characterized by their specific climate and vegetation.
This project involves a series of local companies of all kinds: accommodation (hotels, holiday cottages, halts, hostels), guides, taxis and others (see website).
If you follow the original itinerary (GR-107), do not miss the following musts: Sanctuary of Queralt, Portet Pass, Portella Blanca Pass (the highest point of the crossing), Puymorens Pass, river Ariège until Mérens-Les-Vals, Ijou Pass until Chioula, Prades, Comús and Montsegur, through the Gorges of la Frau, among others.
The new itinerary offers a circular route through Tuixent, La Seu d’Urgell, Llavorsí, Tírvia (where Cathar Bélibaste was caught), Bouet defile and Tarascon, in Ariège.
A fantastic experience that combines long and hard stages together with easier ones which all rime with spectacular views and culture. A unique opportunity to enjoy adventure and nature in their purest form …
