These activities, open to all audiences, have been revitalized with performances by the theater company Pallaresa A Galet and have been distributed between the interior and the surroundings of the old train station of La Pobla de Segur.
The next day started with a popular breakfast at 9:30 am, followed by guided tours by bicycle and by foot for all audiences.
The rehabilitation of this old train station in disuse, has meant an investment of € 336,000.91, financed by 65% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by 32.82% by the Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement de la Generalitat de Catalunya, which has consisted in reconverting it into a new facility that helds the tourism office of the Pobla de Segur, a space for attention to athletes and an interpretive space of the region with special attention to the Vall Fosca and the Collegats-Boumort area.
All spaces are free and open access in order to disseminate the principles of sustainable development in tourist travels and, at the same time, promote the values of conservation of natural and cultural heritage among the population.
The athletes will find a library with books related to the practice of sports, videos that they have recorded minutes before, showers and even a bicycle workshop.
In the interpretive space you can experience sensitive experiences that will capture the smell of the typical flora of the region and appreciate the most autochthonous varieties. In addition, it will be possible to visualize how the electric power produced by the Pallars hydroelectric power plants is generated, discover the wide range of routes in the region, such as hiking, mountain biking, cycling, watchtowers, spaces for aquatic sports and canyoning.
Finally you can watch audiovisuals of traditional activities such as falles or els raiers and sporty realized in Pallars Jussà.
The tourism office of the Pobla de Segur, the first of the demarcation of Lleida, moves its headquarters to this modern and cozy space, from which the information will be expanded and will give a full information of the activities offered on the region.
According to the president of the regional council Pallars Jussà, Constantí Aranda Farrero: “with this act a new equipment is offered to provide services related to sustainable mobility and an emblematic building of the population is recovered that will establish synergies with the new trains of the Lleida corridor – La Pobla de Segur. “
